Let’s say that you accidentally chose the wrong Pokémon to start with in Pokémon Go. Is there anyway to start over again in that case?
Well, I can tell you that there’s’ no official way’, but luckily there are 4 ‘work-around’ methods to reset your account. Let’s have a look at them together – Method 4 is my personal favorite:
Method 1 Create a new Gmail account and subscribe again to Pokémon Go
A Pokémon Go account is always linked to a Gmail account or Pokémon Go trainer club account. If you’re unhappy with your current situation, you can just create a new Gmail address and create a new Pokémon Go account that’s linked to this Gmail address.
Method 2 Create a Pokémon Trainer Club account and subscribe again
You can also create a Pokémon trainer club account that you link to your Pokémon Go account. It’s free but it will take you 5 minutes.
Method 3 Have Niantic delete your account and start over again
You can ask Niantic to remove your account by filling in their removal form. Note that it will take up to several weeks for Niantic to delete your account, due to the immense popularity
Method 4 My personal recommendation: Continue and catch or hatch the other ones later
Don’t worry, you can hatch Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu and Squirtle easily from 2 km eggs or catch them in wild (I personally encountered and caught all 4 of them in the wild).
So my personal recommendation would be to continue the journey you’ve just started as Pokémon trainer. It doesn’t really matter which Pokémon you started with, you’ll discover later on that the Eevee’s (evolves to Vaporeon, Flareon or Jolteon) and Dratini’s (evolves to Dragonite) rather make the difference. They’re the ones you will encounter most of the most of the times during gym battles at a higher level.
